If we make it an option to lobby government to peddle interest by giving them the power to (over) regulate the market place, corporations will peddle their interest (profit) by taking advantage of government (Crony Capitalism). In TRUE capitalism, corporations CANNOT steal and be “greedy” b/c the market (consumers) VOLUNTARILY pay for the goods & services they want. No one FORCED you to buy the computer/device you’re reading this post on. So what do the occupiers want? MORE government regulation of wall street…that just gives MORE power to the government, and those with the means (money (corporations)) will just find ways to FURTHER take advantage of the situation. So yes, the problem IS wall street, it IS the corporations, but the SOURCE of the problem is government – it’s like looking at a criminal(corporations) and saying THEY are the problem, and building a bunch of jails(regulation) while forgetting that poverty(government), too, can lead to crime! The solution is to take the power away from government – to take back our liberty. This was the intention of this country because guess what? The government DOES force you to pay taxes. So while it’s the corporations who steal from the government, it is US who the government is stealing from in the first place…and not just our money.
